Allah Jamal Johnson, 38, of 1501 Perkiomen Avenue, was arrested outside of his residence on Wednesday, Oct. 23 after authorities executed a search warrant, according to the Berks County District Attorney's Office.
An investigation by the Berks County Drug Task Force into Johnson began in August, resulting in a search warrant for his home and his vehicle, a white Buick Regal.
During the search, investigators found:
- One Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol with an obliterated serial number.
- One Rossi .257 caliber pistol.
- Unspecified amounts of fentanyl, synthetic cannabinoids, and cocaine.
- Numerous drug paraphernalia items, including a scale and packaging material.
Johnson was charged with:
- Felony Possession of Firearm Prohibited (two counts).
- Felony Possession of Firearm with Manufacturer Number Altered.
- Misdemeanor Possession of a Controlled Substance by Person not Registered (three counts).
- Misdemeanor Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 8, according to court documents. He's currently being held in Berks County Prison on $25,000 bail.
Johnson has been charged several times in the past, pleading guilty to:
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Body Armor, Receiving Stolen Property, and other charges for an incident in March 2018.
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana, and Driving an Unregistered Vehicle for a September 2016 incident.
- Aggravated Assault charges for a January 2006 incident.
